First day of Comic Con International. To say it was incredible would be a total understatment.
Today was just the pre-reg/badge pickup and preview night so the exhibit hall was only open from 6-9 PM. We went to several places and Tanya managed to get a lot of stuff she really wanted, including several autographs from people from Penny Arcade and Red vs. Blue. It was pretty neat. She also spent over $70. I managed to hold it down and only spend $6 (no tax!) on a manga, Yours and My Secret, which is a shoujo genderbender series by Ai Morinaga (I think that's her name) who also did Duck Prince and Yamada Taro. It's bloody hilarious, not to mention the pretty art and the somewhat shounen ai hint. XD I can't wait until the second vol releases, although it has been over a year already. x___x
ANYWAYZ, there were many booths including Square-Enix, Bandai, TokyoPop, and others. Got a lot of freebies. One thing at the Square booth that was really awesome were the new action figures. The Sephiroth one is only $20! And they're big action figures, really nicely done. I plan on getting that (although it said it's coming out in September). I hope to be able to get it at the con though, since i know I'd probably forget and never get it, even though it's so nice and cheap.
Second, there happens to be a JROCK booth. Yeah. They were playing some lives on this TV, and it was funny 'cause as I was walking past, I heard something and I was like "hmm, sounds so good and familiar!" and when i looked up from their Visual-Kei magazine rack, lo and behold, what was playing was a track from one of Kagrra's concerts. XD And I then proceed to squeal like a true fangirl and was practically drooling, until Tanya dragged me away.
They were also selling CDs/singles, magazines (Cure, mostly, which is a Visual Kei jrock mag, I think), several photobooks and stuff. They got a lot of stuff of Dir en Grey, I noticed. They also got posters and t-shirts I think. I didn't buy anything today, but I seriously suspect that the bulk of my money is gonna be spent there (but if my self control say anything, most likely I woudln't get TOO much). The CDs were bloody expensive. The singles (ie 2-3 songs on the CD) were $20 each, and the actual albums were aruond $30-$50 each. The thing is, all the stuff they have of bands I do know (Moi dix Mois, Dir en Grey, and Kagrra) I've already heard and have on the comp. If only they have the new Kagrra album that's due coming out soon...T___T But yeah, so I don't really wanna spend on things i've already heard (although I woudln't mind having the Omou single actually, now that i think about it...), but I also don't want to spend so much money on bands I've never heard much before, and so don't know if I really like them. I'm THINKING of getting a CD of Due le Quartz, but I'm not really sure, since i"ve never really heard many of their songs. *sigh*
But yeah, I think most likely I'm gonna get the Omou single, get that other Sakura something or other single the girl said she really liked, and it's a released of one of their old songs (I have an idea what song it is, but not really sure), so that's probably gonna be approximately $40 right there. I might either get a single or an album of Due le Quartz, and a couple of posters.
What else...oh yeah, and i might pick up one of the Cure magazines. XD It's $10 each but they look pretty thick, and I seriously need eyecandies. XD
Well, that's just the preview night. The next four days I'm not gonna be home very much. ^^;;;;;;
